The child of migrant workers, Cristina Villarreal grew up with limited resources, but with a great deal of love. Under the tutelage of her mother, aunt and grandmother, she learned to sew, crochet, and embroider at an early age. As a pre-teen, Cristina had dreams of being involved in the fashion industry. She regularly envisioned her grownup self behind the scenes at major fashion shows. Fast-forward a scant few years, Cristina enrolled in cosmetology school as a logical launch to her big fashion industry dream. Upon completion of the course and a brief time working as a Cosmetologist, Cristina enrolled in fashion school.
After finishing that portion of her education, she had the rare opportunity to intern on a television show in L.A. This led to more and more wardrobe jobs in the Entertainment and Fashion venues. As Cristina gained a stronger and stronger reputation as an expert fashionista, she scored gigs with high-profile celebrities such as: Beyonce, Cristina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, as well as several successful bands: Aerosmith, Destiny’s Child, B2K, Depeche Mode, and more.
Cristina had truly realized her childhood dreams and relished serving her celeb clients as wardrobe mistress, while traveling all over the world with them to nearly 50 states and more than 60 countries. But, when she and her mate had two small children to care for, life on the road as stylist to the stars no longer worked in her new life. When they were expecting their first child, they moved north to Oregon near aging loved ones and to provide a healthier environment for their blossoming family. What was she to do in her new home?
